What is a Time Kill Study?
Time Kill studies are in vitro studies used to evaluate an antimicrobial agent – specifically changes to microorganism population after time-dependent exposure to that agent. Typical time exposure is 15, 30 and/or 60 seconds, but can extend to minutes or even hours. These studies can be performed to assess a wide range of products such as hand rubs (hand sanitizers) and anti-bacterial/anti-fungal oral rinses.
